Tour the grounds of one of America's oldest working plantations and participate in an educational program that offers students an in-depth look at slavery. The program will take place at the original slave cabins and will cover themes ranging from Gullah culture to daily life on a Southern plantation. |

Slavery & Freedom Walking Tour |
 |
Stroll through Charleston's Historic District as you learn about the city's rich African-American heritage. Your tour will discuss the origins of slavery in South Carolina, an attempted slave uprising, the antebellum free black population, Reconstruction, and the modern Civil Rights Movement. |

Old Slave Mart Museum |
 |
Possibly the only known building used as a slave auction gallery in South Carolina that is still in existence, the Old Slave Mart was once part of a complex of buildings known as Ryan's Mart and is currently open as a museum to recount Charleston's role in the inter-state slave trade. |
